The publication represents the genre of systematic bibliography – it is a chronological list of publications of a certain period of time with indexes. The publication includes all known publications from 1725 to 1930, which contain text in the Latgalian written language. The bibliography as a whole and each section separately have a unified structure; the collection of all texts included in the bibliography is divided into nine time periods. The bibliography is accompanied by an extensive description of the scientific methodology – the purpose of the publication, structure, justification of the text genre categories and selected titles, and specific examples are also presented. It is the most extensive bibliography on Latgalian printed texts in the aforementioned time period. The information included in the bibliography has been carefully checked; sources and references have been added at the end of the publication. This bibliography is based on previous similar publications, but by summarising, systematising and supplementing the existing information, it offers new material that is very useful and easy to use (in electronic format) for researchers of the Latgalian language and literature. The publication is primarily addressed to researchers of the humanities (linguistics, literary studies, folklore, history), for whom the bibliography can be a useful tool to identify which texts written in the Latgalian language are available in this period. At the same time, the publication can also be used by a wider audience to stimulate interest and gain insight into the diversity of Latgalian literature.
