The Impact of Academic Writing on a Scientist’s Career: Local and Global Perspectives

The Doctoral Thesis is a collection of publications reflecting the results of the author’s research on the language of science in Latvia and worldwide over several years (2018–2025). The outcome is 15 articles (in total), including three chapters in collective monographs. The formation of scientific language style and support for academic writing is a complex process, thus the objective was set – to show how interrelated legal requirements and globalisation processes, by interacting, influence the style of scientific language and shape academic writing traditions at the levels of text, phrases, and words.
