The Doctoral Thesis analyses cybersecurity and throughput aspects of IEEE 802.15.4 wireless sensor networks, which are widely used in IoT and smart home solutions. The concepts of low energy consumption and limited bandwidth make these networks particularly vulnerable to attacks such as packet injection and DoS attacks. The Thesis includes an experimental evaluation of signal strength and throughput in Zigbee networks using empirical Shannon theorem and Nakagami distribution model, as well as an analysis of attack and defence methods, including packet monitoring and RF interference generation.
