The aim of the Thesis is to test the suitability of materials made from waste glass and waste wood ash for biomethanation in biotrickling filter reactors through experimental investigation and data analysis. The study focuses on the determination of the main parameters of filter materials affecting biomethanation, the characterisation and experimental evaluation of wood ash and glass foam materials in biomethanation, and the validation of the results by gas analysis. A multi-criteria analysis to select the most sustainable filter materials is also included.
