The use of electrochemical methods in organic synthesis is a promising area of research that enables the formation of new chemical bonds through redox processes using electric current. The topic of the Doctoral Thesis involves the development of new electrochemical methods, based on anodic generation of radicals and radical cations, which will add effective, environmentally friendly methods to the arsenal of organic synthesis. The first part of the Doctoral Thesis is dedicated to the development of methods that would allow the conversion of biomass-derived furfural derivatives into useful building blocks, while the second part is dedicated to the electrochemical functionalization of cyclopropanes.
