The Doctoral Thesis examines the integration of information systems in the context of post-merger integration. Noting that only half of merger and acquisition initiatives are successful, the Thesis focuses on the lack of expertise in this area. The Thesis suggests that with support methods, specialists can match expert results. In the scope of this Doctoral Thesis, two support methods were developed for the informed identification of groups of information systems to be integrated and analysis of integration options in the PMI initiatives. For each of the methods, a support tool was developed. The developed methods were validated through simulation, experimental, and usability evaluation.
