Principles of Development of Multi-sensor Control Systems for the Thermal State of Railway Point and their Research
Summary of the Doctoral Thesis
Ruslans Muhitovs, Riga Technical University, Latvia
The Thesis is a research on the issues of energy efficiency and safety of the railway transportation process by studying the snow and ice cleaning systems of the turnouts. The point cleaning process is highly dependent on various external factors: temperature, intensity of precipitation, and others. In addition, the aforementioned variables and their combinations are random in nature, which seriously complicates the construction of an efficient turnout heating system. In the Thesis, a multi-sensor control system for alternating electric heating with fuzzy logic integration is defined, which enables logical processing of non-strict input parameters and the system to be integrated into an automatic control system.
