Sustainability Assessment of Bioresources. Latvian cases

Doctoral Thesis

Arnis Dzalbs, Riga Technical University, Latvia

In the Thesis, the assessment of the sustainability of bioresources is carried out. Using both theoretical and practical methods, the potential and market maturity of the introduction of bioresources and renewable energy resources is determined. Within the framework of the research, a unique life cycle model was developed for the analysis of the sustainability of the agricultural cold supply chain for a sea buckthorn plantation in Latvia and the available greenhouse gas calculation tools were analysed. The market potential of bioresource-based thermal packaging and the development of construction materials from logging residues in laboratory conditions were identified.
