The PhD Thesis covers a process of the development of a structural health monitoring system for middle-sized operating structures, such as wind turbines, towers or blades. A set of technological and methodological solutions is presented for solving common SHM systems issues. The solutions include the utilization of piezo film deformation sensors, implementation of operational modal analysis, periodic component suppression, and modal passport of a structure. Developed solutions are tried on real structures and models in laboratory conditions and the field.
