The Doctoral Thesis focuses on the design, modelling, and experimental implementation of analogue and discrete chaotic oscillators. It addresses key challenges in hardware realisation and synchronisation, exploring analogue-discrete and discrete-analogue configurations. The research introduces efficient FPGA-based designs of the oscillators using fixed-point arithmetic and evaluates system robustness against noise, parameter mismatches, and quantisation errors. Additionally, chaos-based authentication is demonstrated, providing a robust framework for secure physical-layer communications.
