Teaching Aids

Authors’ Collective

The methodological teaching tool provides a comprehensive insight into youth civic participation and its importance in the development of a sustainable urban environment. The material is based on extensive empirical research that analyses the knowledge, attitudes, values and action capacity of 11th graders and 1st-year students, paying special attention to the sense of belonging, patriotism, responsibility and participatory practices. The research results reveal significant trends in young people’s civic self-assessment, as well as challenges related to loss of trust, limited opportunities for engagement and a different understanding of the role of the future creator. The material serves as support for both educational practitioners and policy-makers, emphasising the need for modern, humane and experience-based civic education.
