226 churches in Latvia have been granted the status of a monument of national importance, and approximately 2378 movable and immovable monuments of national importance are located in these churches, the preservation of which is significantly affected by the indoor microclimate. To date, no threshold values for air parameters defining a conservation microclimate have been established. The Doctoral Thesis aims to determine these threshold values for historical churches in Latvia. The research is based on measurements, typology development, and simulations, resulting in the development of a methodology and guidelines for ensuring a conservation microclimate.
